Not applying your serum or moisturiser quick enough after cleansing
You need to apply serums and moisturisers within thirty to sixty seconds of cleansing as your skin can dry out and feel tight. It is best to apply products when your skin is damp as to increase the absorption of the product, increasing hydration levels.
Removing your eye makeup and your face makeup together
This should be done separately! Eye makeup is usually more stubborn and the eye area is more delicate as the skin is thinner. As such, use a makeup remover more specific to the eyes, hold the cotton pad gently over the eye for thirty seconds and don't rub too hard.
Try these out:
- The Face Shop Rice Water Bright Lip & Eye Remover
- Simple Kind To Skin Eye Make-Up Remover
- Pixi Hydrating Milky Makeup Remover
- Cosmoderm Vitamin E Makeup Remover
- Biore Makeup Remover
Rubbing your products vigorously into your face
Some might think that rubbing in products more vigorously may increase absorption or make them work better. However, this isn't true as the rubbing may actually aggravate your skin. Instead try using gentler strokes in an upwards motion.
Forgetting your neck
Your skincare routine should not stop at your chin, give your neck some loving! The skin on your neck is thin, thus making more susceptible to ageing faster than other parts of your body! Make sure to take moisturiser and serums down your neck.
