What is Niacinamide?

What is Niacinamide?

Niacinamide, is a form of vitamin B3 found in food and used as a dietary supplement and medication. When applied topically or taken orally as a supplement, niacinamide has been shown to have anti-inflammatory effects on the skin, helping to treat acne. It is a water-soluble vitamin that works with your skin's natural substances to help visibly reduce enlarged pores, smooth uneven skin tone, tighten open pores, soften fine lines and wrinkles, strengthen the barrier of your skin and reduce dullness.

How does it work?

Niacinamide reduces the impact of environmental damage because of its ability to strengthen the weakened areas of your skin. It is the protector of our skin and helps us to understand our skin’s barrier by keeping irritants and pollution away while oil and water stay locked in.

Why I should use it?

Niacinamide is compatible with other skincare products that we often use like Vitamin C, AHAs, BHA, and etc. The composition is unique and fits into the general skincare lines. Niacinamide is a version of vitamin B3, which can brighten the complexion, erase wrinkles, reduce moisture loss and dehydration, improve elasticity, and fight inflammation, by helping your skin improve its natural production of skin-strengthening ceramides. Ceramides aid in forming a barrier to prevent permeability. This locks in your skin moisture which helps to prevent dryness and irritation and minimizing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Those benefits can have effects on anti-aging. When skin is dry, fine lines and wrinkles often become more noticeable.

    Hi Kimberly,

Thank you very much for participating this discussion. Information on Niacinamide is widely available and we have used several references to provide useful excerpt for our readers.

We love Paula and her good advice on beauty section and I am sure she is doing the same (using references) as she was not a chemist by training. I have taken a look at your link, since Paula did not want cite other authors, but the publication cited was perhaps the same as what we’ve used.

if you are working for Paula’s Choice, kindly write us an email stating and provide more information why are you think there is plagiarism.

    Happy to assist ❤️

It is a disgrace that you copy most of the content from Paula’s Choice article. Shame on you. I’ll share this on social media for plagiarism without permission to endorse other products. Disgusting.
