Since 2016, Some By Mi has taken the Southeast Asian market by storm and is now seeing a global expansion to over 20 countries worldwide. The name Some By Mi originates from the combination of the words “Something”, “By A Miracle” and “Mi” which stands for “beauty” in Korean “미”. Something interesting is that the hanja (Chinese character) form of “미” is 美.
The brand philosophy of Some By Mi is to deliver natural beauty through the pureness and honesty of nature. They aim to make products without causing any inconvenience, such as skin concerns or using complicated ingredients. The brand promises to formulate its products with mild and skin-friendly, natural ingredients that are FREE from harmful chemicals such as carcinogen, colorants and parabens. Some By Mi has released 4 lines, each targeted for specific skin concerns; Snail Truecica, AHA-BHA-PHA, Yuja Niacin and Pure Vitamin C. For now, we’ll bring our attention to the Snail Truecica line.
The Snail Truecica line is catered towards anti-ageing and soothing skin concerns utilizing a combination of self-sustaining Black Snail and Truecica formulation. It helps the skin and allows the skin the ability to strengthen and protect itself. This line keeps it simple, only consisting of 4 products; gel cleanser, toner, serum and moisturizer.
- Black Snail: Black Snail has powerful vitality that allows it to survive out of its internal nutrients for up to 6 months during hibernation. It provides nutrients to allow the skin to regain its power and soothes sensitized skin.
- Truecica: Some By Mi’s exclusive calming care ingredient technique that is formulated with Tea Tree, Centella Asiatica, Mugwort and Titrated Extract of Centella Asiatica.
Snail Truecica Miracle Repair Low pH Gel Cleanser
A mild and gentle gel-like cleanser with a pH level of 5.5 the most ideal pH level for the skin. The black snail extracts heals damaged skin and the truecica soothes and strengthens the skin. Other than its 2 main ingredients, this gel cleanser also contains 17 types of amino acids and ceramide which creates a moisture barrier on the skin.
Snail Truecica Miracle Repair Toner
Formulated with 91% snail truecica that helps the skin’s natural strength gain back its healthy condition and function by itself. It also contains niacinamide, arbutin, glutathione and other plant extracts for brightening, whitening and anti-wrinkle effects.
Snail Truecica Miracle Repair Serum
A dual-funtioning product with whitening + anti-wrinkle benefits. Formulated with 890,000ppm of snail truecica to increase the power of the skin to regains back its health. It also helps to treat irritated skin with natural sourced ingredients; Sage Extract, Allantoin and etc. Texture-wise, It has a light, fresh and quick-absorbing texture that leaves a non-sticking finish.
Snail Truecica Miracle Repair Cream
Like the name suggests, a true miracle for the skin. This lightweight, yet rich moisturizer will help strengthen the skin power and preventing it from being easily sensitized due to the truecica and black snail that retains nutrients to fortify the skin’s ability to defend itself. It doesn’t stop there, it also consists of marine collagen, 5 layers of ceramides and vegetable peptide to ensure the best possible foundation to build up your skin barrier.
